Phew!

Well my visitor has gone. He told me that I would never see him again, which makes me sad but if that's the way he wants it then there is nothing I can do. So we have resumed our drama free life I hope!
Lewis and I will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary next week, which I am so excited about. I feel so glad that we have managed to be come through these last 5 years which haven't always been easy, and we are still very much in love. Let's hope the rest of our married life will be the same!
Nothing else doing really, hope you are all having a great week x

Aaaaaaarrrggghhhhhh!!!!

I have no time at the minute to put anything on the blog at the moment because we have my Dad staying with us. It is like having another child, but one that does all the negative things with none of the plus points. I consider myself a generally patient person and I do try and do the right thing (though I don't always get it right!), but in trying to do this I think I have made a huge mistake. My Dad was stressed because of things going on his life at the moment, and so he said he needed some where to stay and since he has alienated everyone else he knows I felt pressured to have him at ours, but now it seems there is no sign of him leaving any time soon and I am not sure how much I can take! He totally disrespects our beliefs and drinks alcohol in our home and uses terrible language. He does go outside to smoke, but it just blows back in the house, and my lovely home smells horrible. My asthma is playing up because of it, and I just want to scream. I am a terrible person to want him out asap?

Nathan playing with old fashioned toys.
Our little Victorian girl
Searching for treasure, all we found were the screws that they used to fix the sandpit down to the floor!
Since we were in Scunthorpe yesterday for Nathan's hospital appointment we decided to take the children to the museum (free entry, yipee). We had a really great time looking through all the different exhibits. The children particularly enjoyed the more hands on activities we did, mask making, digging for treasure and making mosaics (more pictures to follow). We also went into an air raid shelter and it played sound effects of the air raid siren going off and bombs being dropped, it was very scarey even though I knew it wasn't real. It reminded me of my Nanna's air raid shelter that she still had at the bottom of her garden, kind of weird to think that she would have had to use it. All in all a good day out.

Nathan's Leg update

Above is the new improved pot and below going to the hospital to have the old pot taken off,
We went to the hospital yesterday to have Nathan's pot taken off. The hospital staff where fantastic with him (now I'm sure that's because they are always nice and not because I mentioned to them that I had put in a complaint about the A+E department...They were mean to Nathan on Monday!) So now he has a nice blue pot on and he only has to keep it on for four weeks. He goes to have it taken off on th 25th of June 2009.

Nathan takes a tumble

Hope you all had a nice bank holiday Monday, I spent mine in the A+E department of Scunthorpe General Hospital!!! Nathan had a bit of tumble on Sunday, and unfortunately so did Grace ...on top of Nathan. As a result Nathan has a spiral fracture and his leg in pot. We didn't think much of it when he did it, just that he'd sprained it since there was no bruising, bleeding or swelling, but my mothers instinct kept niggling at me and so when he woke up on Monday still unable to use it I took him to A+E just to get it checked out...lucky I did!
He is doing ok, though a little bored because he can't put any weight on it until he gets a proper pot on it on Thursday. Lewis has taken today off, and he is off tomorrow so he can help with the kids as they are off school this week and we will see how we go after Thursday's appointment at the fracture clinic! Will keep you posted x

We are here!

We are still alive and mostly well don't worry! I am feeling really rough today which is just horrid, even more so for Lewis because I am whinging about being ill and he has to listen to me (though he's at work until 11pm now). I feel like being sick, and have the awful dilemma of not wanting to be actually sick because it is gross, but wanting to at the same time so I can get it over and done with...too much information I know, but now you can sympathise with Lewis. I also have a throbbing headache and feel exhausted...I wonder if I have pig flu???!!! Mum is having Caitlin tonight so it will be just me and the boys tonight and I will most definitely be heading for bed as soon as I get them settled.
Hopefully I will be feeling much better for tomorrow as it is our final fostering class. One of the topics is "safeguarding children" I am guessing it is all the child protection stuff and will be a bit grim, but with the training that Lewis and I have done in the past I doubt there will be little that we haven't heard already. The classes in general are going well, it has given us some food for thought and helped us to think about we could cope with and what we couldn't.
Will post some photos on as soon as I feel a bit better.
